Raluca Creangă, PhD, serves on Airvolt’s Advisory Board, contributing deep expertise at the intersection of human systems, technology, and urban behavior. A social scientist by training and a strategist by practice, she supports Airvolt’s long-term mission to develop Clean Air Media Infrastructure that is not only technologically advanced, but socially grounded, ethically designed, and broadly trusted in public space.

With an academic foundation spanning anthropology, sociology, and consumer research, Raluca brings a rare ability to translate rigorous social science into real-world, scalable applications. Her work focuses on how people perceive, interact with, and assign meaning to technologies embedded in everyday environments — particularly those operating at the intersection of infrastructure, media, and public life.

Raluca has conducted advanced research at leading academic institutions, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she has been affiliated with both the Anthropology Department and the Language and Technology Lab as a visiting researcher and graduate fellow. Her scholarly work explores themes such as digital presence, copresence, mediation, consumer culture, and the social implications of emerging technologies. She is the author of multiple academic publications examining how technology reshapes perception, behavior, trust, and cultural narratives in contemporary societies.

Alongside her academic career, Raluca has built extensive industry experience as a User Experience Researcher, research operations leader, and digital strategist, working with global organizations across product strategy, CRM, analytics, and applied research. This dual fluency — academic and commercial — allows her to operate as a bridge between evidence-based research and the practical realities of deploying complex systems at scale.

At Airvolt, Raluca contributes strategic insight into human-centered infrastructure design, public interaction with urban technologies, and the long-term social dynamics that emerge when intelligent media systems become part of the built environment.
